My At-Home Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Recipe
When it comes to Christmas, I don’t mess around. I’m one of those crazy people who transitions our home décor from fall to festive starting on November 1 and my Starbucks order follows suit.
If you didn’t already know, you can order the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha year-round (just without the chocolate curl garnish on top) and I take full advantage of this right after Halloween each year. However, at $5.25 a pop, that gets pretty expensive pretty quickly so this year I took matters into my own hands.
Through extensive Pinterest research (and many failed attempts), I created the perfect solution to my Holiday Starbucks Addiction: the Berno At-Home Peppermint Mocha Recipe.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Tag me in your IG stories if you make it and watch my step-by-step how-to video here.
What you’ll need:
1 Tsp Cocoa Powder (unsweet)
2 Tsp Granulated Sugar
8 oz Unflavored Coffee (regular or decaf)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
2-4 Drops Peppermint Extract
2-4 oz Milk (your choice)
Top With Marshmallows, Crushed Canes or Sprinkles
Instructions:
Using a 12 oz mug, add cocoa powder and sugar to the bottom and mix well.
Fill your mug 2/3 of the way with hot, brewed coffee.
Add your vanilla & peppermint extract and stir.
In a separate container, heat your milk either in the microwave or on the stovetop until hot, then froth using this at-home milk frother (optional).
Fill your mug to the top and add your favorite garnish.
